Our Artists:

Kathy Lett, Abstract Artist kathy@sippitydoodle.com
Kathy was introduced to art at an early age, whether it was painting on fabric, paper or canvas. Painting and drawing were Kathy's way of dealing with the many mixed emotions that children experience. Kathy grew up and attended high school in Lexington, Kentucky, then moved to Richmond, Kentucky to attend Eastern Kentucky University and major in Graphic Arts. After college Kathy moved to California to model and act in television commercials. Her leisure time was filled with painting and ceramic arts. When Kathy got married and moved to Dallas, she enjoyed teaching art classes for the non-profit organization "Arts For People" and continued to model and act. Kathy sees art as a therapy for the soul, constantly combating the fear and doubt in all of us...it is a RELEASE to PEACE in this fast paced world we live in. Today, her daughter is very creative and shares her love of art.

Marie Blocker marie@sippitydoodle.com
I grew up in Katy, Texas, and went on to study Fine Art and Graphic Design at the University of Texas in Austin. I specialize in acrylic works that have rich, lively hues and many focus on water scenes. My works have a painterly feel from using a pallet knife that excites and delights the eye. Oil is another favored medium.
I have always liked to paint and draw. As a young child my favorite activities to while away the hours were drawing and creating artistic objects. Being a mother of a teenage son, wife and full-time employee, it's hard to find time to create these days. However, early in 2007 I opened my studio space at the Art House which gives me a special place to use my artist talent and create. I also teach painting, drawing and mixed media as well as instruct on the Masters to students young and old.

Leslie Booth leslie@sippitydoodle.com
I grew up in an artistic family- my mother has painted my entire life, my aunt was a college art teacher in Abilene, and my uncle was the professor of art at Southwestern University in Georgetown. My three adult daughters are all artists as well. I worked for a national art chain as a floral and crafts manager, then I was a florist and floral designer before choosing to stay home with my daughters. I've been commissioned for several installations in private homes, one an entire wall mural for a kitchen remodel. I’ve enjoyed teaching in Texas public schools for 11 years but McKinney has happily been my home for the past three years now. I truly believe I have the best job in the world- teaching my students how to tap their creativity, learn new techniques, and make art!

Alison Daffin Montgomery alison@sippitydoodle.com
Alison is an artist, mother and wife who has drawn and painted since she can remember. SHE THRIVES ON INSPIRING AND BEING INSPIRED BY OTHERS. She has developed a compelling use of layered acrylics (sometimes incorporating oil pastels and collage) on canvas that glow with lively colors and dance with movement and texture.
Her most recent subject matter includes figures, faces, various elements of nature as well as well as expressive abstract studies. Alison and her husband, along with their 8-year old daughter, 6-year old son reside in McKinney, Texas. Whenever possible, they spend time with family up in Toas, NM where Alison spends her time sketching, painting, exploring and gathering inspiration.
In addition to showing work online, she has paintings featured in select shops & venues in Texas, Tennessee and New Mexico. Other design clients and painting patrons include Neiman Marcus, la Madeleine, Celebrity Cafe & Bakery and Tempest Tea.
